Our Services

We use the RIBA Work Stages to guide your project through the process from inception to completion on site and handover.

You can appoint us for the whole process or just as much as you need.

  • RIBA Stage 1 - Initial assessment and design brief

To begin with, we will visit site with you, listen to your requirements and form a written brief.

We will assess the site, advise you how to proceed and help you put in place the project team.

  • RIBA Stage 2 - Concept sketches

Working in close collaboration with you and the project team, we will produce initial sketches and models as necessary to try out design options for discussion and help you decide on what works best for you.

We normally advise that informal advice from the Planning Department is sought at this stage.

  • RIBA Stage 3 - Planning and Building Regulations Approvals

Once you have settled on the preferred scheme, taking into account pre-application planning advice, we will prepare, organise and submit the required documents for local authority Planning and Listed Building Consent approvals.

Depending on the nature of the project, the Building Regulations application can be carried out in RIBA Stage 3 or 4.

For the Church of England, this stage normally includes submitting List B or Faculty applications. Other denominations have similar processes.

  • RIBA Stage 4 - Technical package and Tender

We will develop the design to the necessary level of technical detail required to complete the Building Regulations approval and provide a tender package of drawings and specifications in order for building contractors to provide comparative quotations.

We can help source suitable contractors and process the tendering stage, to the point where you are ready to appoint a contractor.

  • RIBA Stage 5 - Construction Stage

We can administer your contract with the building contractor on your behalf, providing design advice and changes where requested, assessing contractor’s monthly valuations so that payments are properly authorised, deal with any potential issues that may arise and help to ensure everything goes smoothly, up to and after you move in.

  • Specialist Architectural Services

We can also provide other specialist architectural services, for example: Building Condition Surveys, Measured Surveys, Heritage Statements, Feasibility studies, Masterplanning, Planning Appeals, and general professional advice. We can also arrange the landscape and interior design, as an integral part of the process.

  • Churches

As established church architects, we can carry out Quinquennial inspections, provide advice on repairs and fundraising and carry out designs for alterations, e.g. kitchen, toilet and accessibility improvements.

Working closely with the Diocese/authorising body, along with your church community, we can provide the assistance you need.

  • Feedback time

Happy with our work? Please let us know.

We always welcome your feedback so we can provide the best possible service.

You may wish to make further changes after the project is finished, so we will keep in touch to make sure everything is carried out to your satisfaction.
