We are used to negotiating with Local Planning Departments and strive to work amicably to achieve the best outcome. On rare occasions a planning appeal is required and we have an excellent track record of success.
We can also produce drawings for Building Control applications and for contractors to provide quotations. We can support you further by overseeing the construction work on site to ensure everything goes smoothly up to completion.

Straw bale
Our clients often come to us because of our experience of working with natural materials, straw bale, cob, lime, timber, clay plaster etc. This extension is built with straw bale walls and lime rendered. The client also redeveloped their existing home to improve thermal efficiency. It has solid wood floors with underfloor heating and a log-burner.

Former village hall
This was designed to re-use the walls of a former village hall. It has a high level of insulation and an air-source heat pump system. The client chose high quality local materials and craftsmanship. This was a largely self-built project, lovingly executed.

Bungalow redevelopment
Re-using existing buildings is inherently sustainable. This under-loved 1960’s 2-bedroom bungalow was in need of considerable updating. The loft and basement was converted to provide a substantial 6-bedroom family home on 3 levels, with extra insulation, double glazing, new efficient central heating and a wood-burning stove.

Barn Conversion
Barn conversions and annexes are a regular part of our portfolio. This derelict barn was converted to a luxury holiday home with a ground source heat pump, high levels of insulation and excellent quality windows. Any excess heat is used to warm the outdoor hot-tub.
